Why We Do

Our Purpose - Meeting the needs of the whole person - body and spirit

Human beings are both spiritual and physical creations, having both needs of the body and of the heart and spirit. Members of Family Care Ministries seek to meet the needs of the entire person, not merely just the body and its environment. We support and provide the means to meet the physical needs of many who are suffering from hunger, malnutrition, extreme poverty, disease and ill health, from broken homes and families, from nations in war and conflict. These ministries often help to heal their bodies and bring relief to immediately distressful physical conditions. But none can be completely happy with a heavy heart, a troubled mind, a discouraged spirit and an unsaved soul. The needs of a broken spirit are often overlooked when meeting the needs of the flesh.

We have found that the effects of the faith and love we impart to those we reach out to far surpass the aid to their physical needs only; it heals their hearts, their memories, their souls, their past and their future. Like the truth of the old saying: "Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man how to fish and you feed him for a lifetime". Meeting the deeper needs of the heart can brighten spirits, change outlooks, bring opportunity and in turn improve the quality of ones' life for eternity.

Many of the problems and much of the suffering found in our world today exist because of man’s inhumanity to man and are caused by a lack of understanding of how to be happy and little knowledge of the love, faith and power of God and the loving laws that God designed for us to live by.

We are making a difference in the lives of those we minister to through our programs that implement deeds of love, acts of kindness, help others obtain their physical needs, provide educational and inspirational materials sharing God's love and answers and bring peace and joy to weary hearts and souls -- inspiring people to believe in God and His love and His plan for a better future for mankind.

To truly change the world we must change hearts. And to change a heart requires the miracle working power of God's love which knows no boundaries, no nation, no race, no culture, nor political view or economic system and is not bound by time or space. It embraces all mankind and unites their minds, hearts and spirits in faith and love of God and each other. Come and join us as we change the world...one heart at a time.
