Upcoming Malawi Trip – July 2012

William Carey once said “attempt great things for God and expect great things from God.” We like to do just that throughout this year reaching out to those in South Africa and beyond its borders.

The time has come  to venture out to upper Africa, Malawi to visit and strengthen our two mission outposts  and 14 Activated Youth clubs. Talitha and Josef Bitschnau along with two of our African members, Abram and Gracious, will be making the 5,500 km journey through Zimbabwe and Mozambique to Malawi. Our journey, beginning on the 6th of July, will take us to Blantyre, Zomba, Mangochi, Mzuzu and Lilongwe. We are preparing more Bibles, training and gospel pamphlets to take for the work there.

  • To hold meetings to get to know all of the members personally and encourage and instruct them in using the individual gifts and talents the Lord gave them in ministering within their communities.
  • To offer counsel to the youth leaders, to see and hear the challenges they face in ministering to the youth and in their communities and monitor the progress they made since meeting in January 2012. Our aim is to teach others to teach others.
  • To provide leaders and members of those Activated Youth Clubs which recently joined us with the study and teaching materials they need to effectively teach the 12 Foundation Stones Bible study course.
  • To provide additional material for the lending libraries in each Activated youth club, more Bibles, materials for their children’s ministry and gospel pamphlets for their outreach.
Petrol (@  5,500 km round-trip) R    7,500      (750 Euro)
Taxes, insurance and tolls R    1,200      (120 Euro)
Visas for Josef & Talitha for Malawi, Mozambique & Zimbabwe R    2,800      (280 Euro)
Lodging for 17 days, per day R190 (budget accommodation) R    3,230      (323 Euro)
Trip total R   14,730   (1,473 Euro)

We do not have all the resources yet for the trip nor for the tracts, training and devotional material we would like to take which would amount to an additional R 3000. But we are trusting the Lord and know that God will provide. His commandment is clear. “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature” (Mark 16:15). Since our work and services are all on a volunteer basis, we greatly depend on the financial support and help from friends, private companies and businesses.

We need 74 people to invest/donate R 200.

Someone once said, “If you can’t be a missionary, support one!” Your prayers and support make you part of this wonderful and fruitful mission work. It is changing people’s lives. It is helping to build a living church. “However, the Most High does not live in buildings made by human hands.” Act 7:48.
