July 12,10 The World Cup has come and gone

As the old saying goes “Time flies when you have a good time!” We sure are having a good time sharing God’s love and message with others, empowering all those we meet with the word of God, feeding their soul and body.

THE WORLD CUP HAS COME AND GONE:

Activated Ministries had sponsored 70.000 Magazines of which our team received 5000 and Playing2Win had sponsored 100000 tracts and our team received 15000. It was a challenge to get them all out.

The message was simple; You can live a better life, be happier, more successful and spend more time doing the things that really matter if you’ll let Jesus Coach you.

See, Jesus is the only coach that can guarantee a winning game. He’s the only coach that can make the rush of winning last forever, and make you want to show others how to win as well.

Imagine if someone walked up and offered you a free ticket to a World Cup game.  Would you accept it? Would you ask if there is some kind of catch or gimmick? Are they really for free?  Do I have to work for them or pay for them?

There are free tickets to the finals of the game of life, the Kingdom of Heaven. We don’t have to work for them or earn them.  They are given to us for free.  To accept these tickets, all you have to do is believe. Believe in our great Coach who paid the ultimate sacrifice to make it possible to receive these tickets to the Kingdom of Heaven.

Hi everyone!

Here is a report from Nduduzo, one of our part-time members

2010 World Cup for Jesus - What We Did

Our Primary goal is to improve the quality of life of others by sharing the life-giving message of love, hope, and salvation found in God's Word. We believe that God's love--applied on a practical level to our daily lives--is the key to resolving many of society's problems, even in the complex and fast-paced world of today. Through imparting the hope and guidance found in the Bible's teachings, we believe that we can work toward building a better world--changing the world, one heart at a time.

We had a wonderful time in our offensive witnessing campaign during the World Cup with the Activated Team from Orange Farm and Soweto, many souls were introduced to our Life couch JESUS.

When most people were holding an intense interest as to Who will win the World Cup, Who will be crowned the Player of the tournament or the Couch of the tournament.  We had a beautiful opportunity to extend a personal invitation to every soul we met to join the Winning team. We launched out to the Taxi Ranks, Bus Stops, Fan Parks in Soweto, Sandton City and Orange Farm. We hit the streets, everywhere the Spirit lead to share the message of love with others, we prayed with people to receive Jesus, others needed healing, others were discouraged and depressed from life’s challenges were able to help them through Jesus . In addition to the memory of the World Cup Tournament experience, many people took something Activated Magazines and literature to their Homes, Villages, Countries, and Continents.

They came, they saw - we conquered. The month-long 2010 Fifa World Cup came to an end at Soccer City, Johannesburg, last night when Spain played Holland.

Cheers from the Spanish, tears from the Dutch

The 2010 Fifa World Cup, held for the first time in Africa, has seen:

  • A million people pass through the country's borders since the start in early June;
  • Stadium attendances beyond those of the past four World Cups, at a total of over 3.2 million - second to only the US in 1994;
  • More than five million people at the Fan Fests, locally and abroad;
  • A "conservative" R12-billion injected into the economy, with SA Tourism predicting each visitor would spend at least R12000 while here;
  • Matches involving Bafana Bafana making local television history with figures by

    media company Carat showing that the opening match against Mexico drew 7.7-million viewers - the largest TV audience for a sporting event in the country's history. About 500 million people around the world are expected to watch tonight's game;
  • The event become the most profitable in Fifa history. Fifa made $3.2-billion from selling its marketing and television rights, 30% more than it received for the previous tournament; and
  • Local soccer getting a slice of this with the SA Football Association also set to pocket $77-million from ticket sales for soccer development.

Paul the Oracle Octopus goes eight for eight, is amazing.

       Eight picks, eight correct, eight tentacles. Paul the Oracle Octopus is clearly the biggest winner of the World Cup after recording a perfect prognostication record whether he knows it or not (he probably doesn't).

The big question was whether Paul's predictive superpowers would translate to the final - the first match he was asked to predict that did not involve his native Germany. But such piddly concerns did not bother Paul, mostly because he's an octopus. Just as he

Happy customer

predicted, the European champions Spain became world champions for the first time with an Andres Iniesta goal in extra time. And as the Spanish celebrated, Paul floated in his tank, sure of his genius and probably craving a fresh clam.

Conventional wisdom predicted that the team that loses its first game will never win the finals. Paul the Oracle Octopus of course wasn’t aware of it. Holland won the first 6 games and lost the last one, the final. Spain lost the first but won the last 6 games including the finals and made history. The irony seems that each team won 6 games straight but since the Spaniards lost the first one they won the last one.

Never in World Cup history has that happened but than this World Cup has had a few first’s in their history, including being hosted in Africa.

There is a lesson to be learned. When you put a limitation on what you will do, you have put a limitation on what you can do. The sign on the door of opportunity says "Push"! Success is getting up one more time than falling down

One final thought: It's natural to support our team, but we should recognize the efforts of all the players, no matter where they're from. With this type of competition, of course there are many more losers than winners. Obviously the players who don't make it to the end are disappointed, but they can take pride in how far they went and what

Our Soweto team

they accomplished.

And we each have a chance to do the same in the game of life. Jesus doesn't say the faithful will be rewarded in heaven with the words, "That's great—you beat the competition!" but with, "Well done, good and faithful servant!" (Matthew 25:21). He commends us for doing our part; for playing with character and commitment, for doing our best with whatever gifts and tasks He has given us, and for loving those who He has put in our path. That, I think, is the most beautiful game of all.
